National Scrapbook Day (which was Saturday) was uneventful for me. My husband was actually HOME–yay for the end of fire season! So it was great to be able to go out on a stress-free date on Friday and then just have some down time on Saturday and Sunday.
I did some work on organizing my scraproom and I scrapped a little, but no fancy crops or challenges. I decided since it was NSD, I was just going to scrap for ME…and that’s what I mainly did :) I did get a couple of layouts done in between hanging w/ DH and Caeden so I was pleased with that.
One of them was my faithbooking layout. Here is another one that I made using some more Basic Grey Marrakech. We have a little creek running through our property and Caeden loves to go look at the “Waaa” or “Wa-Wa”
And, I have lots of little fun things to share! I got some great news in the last few days. One of the things I can’t share yet, but am ridiculously excited about it :) Here are the others:
1. For all my budget scrapping friends, there is a new(er) online store called Scrapbuck. For a comparison, think the Big Lots scrapbook section or the Target Dollar spot, only MUCH BIGGER. There are seriously tons of great bargain finds in this store! They have $1.00 adhesive and the store is filled with embellies, papers, and all things scrapping at great prices! And, they want me to design for them :) Laura actually called me on Friday and that was a lot of fun and she is such a sweetie! And, it’s pretty laid back and sound like it will be a lot of fun. Not to mention that I try to be frugal so this place is right up my alley.
2. Let me first say that I live in a really small, rural town. We have 2 tiny newspapers and both are put out weekly. That’s it. But, my aunt knows one of the reporters there and she was telling her that I have some upcoming publications in scrapbooking. And, since I also teach scrapbooking classes for community ed, the reporter wants to do a human interest story on little old me :) So, she’s coming over here on Thursday afternoon to do the interview :)
3. And for an early Mother’s Day gift, Chad took me to Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon and ordered a Bind-It-All! They didn’t have any in stock, but I can go pick it up on Monday and they still honored the coupon so I was excited about that. I have been wanting one for a while and I can’t wait to get it and play with it :)
Finally, if you missed Friday’s Spotlight post, head on over there to check it out and get registered to win a great kit!
