Since I’ve seen a couple posts on facebook recently about meal planning, I decided to start posting our weekly menus. My menus aren’t perfect, and my family actually loves certain convenience foods (like shells & cheese), so sometimes they make their way into my meal plan. Also, I’m very picky, so our sides/veggies end up being the same a lot…potatoes and green beans are staples at my house!
When I was first starting out meal planning, I had a big brainstorming session with my husband. We listed in categories all the foods we make, and included some recipes we’d like to make as well. This helps a lot when I sit down to make my meal plan. Think about it, sometimes it’s hard to think of a meal for supper that night. It’s really hard to think of a week or 2 worth of suppers in one sitting. Having a list to help me think is a big help for me. Chad comes home for lunch, and the kids and I are home all day, so I plan for lunch and supper every day.
Supper: Chicken and Dumplings, green beans, mashed potatoes
Lunch: leftover chicken and dumplings;
Supper: Creamy Mac & Cheese w/ hamburger, peas
Lunch: picnic at the park after storytime (sandwiches, yogurt, fruit)
Supper: Chicken Parmesan Garlic Bread w/ salad
Supper: fried pork chops, potatoes, green beans, tomatoes (I’ve been wanting this since I saw it on pinterest!)
Supper: Date Night! Steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese
Lunch: Meatloaf, green beans w/ potatoes, macaroni and cheese
Supper: grilled chicken, pasta salad w/ veggies, corn
Lunch: leftover meatloaf;
Supper: spaghetti w/ salad, garlic bread
