Kid-Friendly Trail Mix

To go along with my travel-friendly meal plan, here is a travel-friendly “recipe.”  I saw a pin on pinterest using a divided container (like a tackle box) to have snack options available for kids.  But, I decided to make a little kiddie trail mix instead.  I thought it would be fun for my boys to discover all the little treats in there, and it was.  It went over really well, and they were like “I found m&m’s in here”  “I found a marshmallow” etc.  It was a really fun snack for them.

Here is what I used:
Fruit Snacks
M & M’s
Marshmallows
Peanuts
Dried Pineapples, cut into small pieces
Raisins/Craisins

Other Options:
-Goldfish
-Teddy Grahams
-Baking Chips (chocolate, peanut butter, cinnamon, white chocolate, etc.)
-Cereal

Etc…your imagination is the limit :)

I should note that this isn’t necessarily the healthiest thing, but my kids pretty much always eat healthy and VERY rarely have any candy or anything, so I can feel a little less bad about the occasional splurge and giving them a treat for travelling.  Also, since it’s so rare for them, it’s even more special of a treat.
