First Ever Thriving Thursday!!! (Link up & Giveaways!)

(Note:  I promised my best “thriving” tips, but my post was getting way too long, so I will include those next week.  In the meantime, please leave YOUR best “thriving” tips in the comments…How do you thrive, when life gets tough?)

The idea for this has been on my heart for a while, but it’s finally coming together and I can’t tell you how excited I am about it!  And, because I’m so excited about it, I want you all to be excited too, and to that end, I’m having a little giveaway party to celebrate the launch of the Thriving Thursdays link up.

Here are the prizes:

1. First up, my friend Lindsey from Road to 31 has created this super cute ABC character training program, called “Godly Girls Curriculum.”  I will be offering up a full review of the curriculum in the next little bit, but for now, she is offering a set for FREE to one of my readers.

1. Casting Crowns is probably my favorite Christian group, so I’m excited to offer one of their CD’s to a lucky winner.  One winner will receive “Until the Whole World Hears” (PS-No affiliation here, but that CD is on sale for only $5 right now, if you click the link and head over to Christian Books website.)

3. Another Winner will receive a new book, The Fiddler, from Beverly Lewis:

4. And, finally…I am offering up this awesome Tastefully Simple fall package, including Homestyle Beef & Noodle Soup, Nana’s Apple Cake, and a sample of the itty bitty chai drink mix.

And now on to the fun!!! (You can enter the giveaway at the very bottom of this post, past the linky)

Thriving Thursdays is a link up for family-friendly bloggers, who are choosing to THRIVE in their lives.  It’s a place for us to encourage and inspire one another to live life to the fullest–in Jesus Christ.  I welcome you to participate!  I only ask that you follow these simple guidelines:

1. I believe that we can help each other thrive, just by sharing how we’re thriving!  So, link up your posts about thriving–in marriage, faith, parenting, homemaking, relationships, in the kitchen, in frugality.  Everything we do can be a ministry and worship to our Lord :)

2. In the name of community and support, please visit at least 2 other bloggers.  And, please link no more than 3 posts each week.

3.  I would love it if you would include a link back here on your post or somewhere on your blog!  And, especially now when we’re just starting out, I would love for you to pin, facebook, tweet, etc. about the new link up :)

4.  Keep it family friendly, please…but that’s it.

Have fun, and I can’t wait to see what you all have to say :)  Feel free to link up your “favorite ever” blog post as well, since we’re all just getting to know each other around here.

And now for the giveaway.  There are several ways you can enter: a Rafflecopter giveaway

It's a no-brainer. If I don't meet with my Father first thing in the morning and get my marching orders, the best I can hope to do is survive. When I sit at his feet, read his word, listen to his voice speak to my heart, I THRIVE, even on difficult days. What a privilege to have an audience with the King of the universe!

  2. says

Having a plan for the day is my best tip for surviving,.. especially dinner plans. Bible reading, prayer and praise take the day from surviving to thriving.

    • Crystal says

Diane, I completely agree! Having a plan for the day really helps me as well. And, I agree that time with GOd through prayer, praising, etc. is the key to thriving.

Thanks for hosting the link up and letting me know about it! Love your blog layout, want to change mine. :) Hope to meet up with you at Allume.

    • Crystal says

Certainly, Leslie! I really enjoyed your blog :) Yes, I hope I can meet up with you at Allume. I have been stressing about not knowing anyone, but hopefully that will change quickly once I get there.

Hi Crystal! Thanks for hosting the link up, and thanks for dropping by my site yesterday! How to thrive? Everybody else hit the number one thing: Time with the Father. That’s a no-brainer.

Something that’s NOT such a no-brainer –> BREATHE. We’re a nation of shallow breathers and we’re robbing our bodies of the oxygen it needs to “run” our systems. How easy is THAT to add to our days??

Blessings to you and hugs from VA :)

Love your link up party! Thanks for hosting!
For me, thriving is about abiding in Him and keeping my commitments in order. The Lord, my husband, my children and family. Everything else must fall in line behind those. Days when I “rush” through my devotional time are the days where I barely feel like I’m surviving. He is the vital link to thriving!
    Blessings to you Crystal!

Thanks for hosting your new link-up! I'll be honest, I'm just kind of surviving right now, which is why I haven't touched my blog for almost a week until today! I think prayer and time with the Lord is what rejuvenates me when I get stressed and feel like I'm just plodding along :)

    • Crystal says

Joyce, I don’t have a code for it yet (I’m not very tech-savvy!) I’ll try to figure that out and post it soon. In the meantime, you can just include a text link, or you can save the pic to your computer and upload it that way)

  7. says

I read 1 chapter from two books as soon as my youngest goes down for his nap. One on marriage and the other on parenting. Each chapter ends with a prayer and Bible Verses. This helps me really think about my family and how I can help them thrive.

    • Crystal says

ooops..I’ll add the pin button :) But, otherwise, if you go to pinterest, hover over “about” and click “pin it button” Then follow the instructions and right click and click “add to favorites” and then choose “favorites bar” and you can pin anything from your favorites bar.

    • Crystal says

Awesome, Laura. I’d love for you to link up your posts :) It’s going to be a weekly thing, too, so look for a new one each Thursday.

Not expecting too much of myself!! Not trying to BE and DO it all – just doing what I can do through Christ and being content with that.

I love to hear your feedback and value your thoughts! All I ask is that we remain respectful and civil, even when we disagree. Thanks so much for reading. I appreciate you!
