Thriving Thursday 8/21 (& Pictures from our trip)

So, last week, I promised you pictures from our family mission trip…except that we were so busy I barely got any pictures. Oops. But, I did get a few.

We were so blessed to get to be there for our friends during a special time for them in their ministry. We got there late Wednesday night after a 5 hour drive, and stayed up too late catching up on what God is doing in our lives and families.

Then on Thursday we got started early that morning. Rita and I with my children ran some errands for the ministry center and food giveaway, while Chad and Chris put up the revival tent, along with several other men.  Here is the tent all ready to go.

Then, Rita and I headed to the church as well to clean the pews, vacuum, clean windows, etc. Here is the inside of the church building. Caeden helped with wiping down the pews (wish I had a picture of that!), while Logan played with blocks in the nursery room. I love this little country church!

The rest of the weekend was spent visiting, going to revival services, and helping with various aspects of their ministry. On one night of the revival, my new 4-year-old stated that he “ran out of power,” so Rita’s 6-year-old daughter was “charging him up.” Love how sweet kids can be.

And, here is a picture of Chad and me…

And a picture from that Sunday morning–the first service at Pleasant View Baptist Church–of us with Chris and Rita.

And now, we’re heading off to my in-laws for a long weekend visit. We’ll be going to a fair/parade with them, and taking our boys to see the Planes movie. So excited about that, they’ve seen one other movie in the theater, but it was a couple years ago.

Thriving Thursdays Announcement!

I’m excited to announce that my friend KM Logan from Lessons from Ivy is joining Thriving Thursdays as a co-host!  Please welcome her :)  What that means for YOU is more exposure, and you don’t have to do a thing!  The posts you link up here will automatically appear on her blog as well…how cool is that?

Thriving Thursdays is a link up for family-friendly bloggers, who are choosing to THRIVE in their lives. It’s a place for us to encourage and inspire one another to live life to the fullest–in Jesus Christ. Link up your posts about thriving–in marriage, faith, parenting, homemaking, relationships, in the kitchen, in frugality.

Everything we do can be a ministry and worship to our Lord. Link up as many posts as you want, and I hope that you’ll take the time to visit some other participants as well.

I am so blessed by the posts you all share! I really look forward to seeing all of the encouragement shared here each week. Keep it coming! Sometimes I highlight posts here, and I also pin my favorites to the Thriving Thursdays Pinterest Board.

I love ministering with my children! We have involved them in ministry or service opportunities from the time they were very little. They are now young adults but both serve in the church and love the Lord!

Love the pictures and such a sweet one of her “charging” him up, lol! Thanks for hosting today.
