Surround Yourself with Encouragement (with Wise Decor)

Disclosure: Wise Decor provided me with a complimentary decal so that I could try it out, and they are also  sponsoring the giveaway for you. I was compensated for my time involved with this review and post. All opinions are my own.

Wise Decor | Serving Joyfully

Our homes should be a sanctuary. One of my goals for this year has been to work harder at providing a peaceful and God-honoring atmosphere in my home. And while that starts in the heart and with attitude, I believe it encompasses many things, including keeping my home clean and clutter free, etc. I also think there is another fun way to do this, and that is to surround ourselves with scripture and inspiration.

Scripture tells us that the word of God is sharper than any two-edge sword (Hebrews 4:12). Too often, we want to wield that sword against others. However, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16).

We must first be sure we are living out those scriptures ourselves.

So, it is my desire to surround myself with scripture. Everyday. I want to allow it to guide and convict. Obviously, I do this by reading my Bible, but I also want to visually surround myself with scripture.  One easy way to do this is with the amazing wall lettering from Wise Decor.

I have been seeing wall decals  around the internet and I have always loved them! So, when Wise Decor contacted me, I was very excited to work with them to support a family-owned company, get this great decor for our home, and to get a $50 gift certificate for one of you! Super excited about that part!

Why Choose Wise Decor?

Wise Decor wall decals is a small, family-owned business. They are Christians and so in addition to lots of beautiful and inspiring quotes and sayings, you can also find many, many pre-made and ready to go scripture-based designs. They have what seems to be endless designs and selections on their site! I eventually chose the “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord” verse that you see above. However, I was also enamored with this one, this one, and this one…along with about 20 more!

The designs they have are just breathtaking, and the selection is huge. However, if you can’t find what you are looking for in the midst of the thousands they already offer, they will work with you! Sarah from A Mama’s Story worked with them on a custom project to get the exact verse she wanted, so you can see her firsthand experience about that process.

And if, after all this, you get your wall decor and decide you don’t love it, you have 30 days to return it for a refund, or they will continue to work with you to get a product you are satisfied with. I love to see a company that is so confident in the quality of their work that they stand by their product with an unconditional guarantee!

Our Experience with Wise Decor

Like I said, we chose the Joshua 24:15 verse for our wall decal. The coloring is very weird in this photo, but I wanted to show you a close up and talk about the grooves in the wall of our rental home. Also, this picture makes it look a little crooked, which it isn’t in real life.

I was a bit concerned about the wall decal adhering properly because of the grooves in the wall. However, it adhered great and we didn’t have any problems with the application. It was a very simple process. I appreciate that it is easily removed as well since this is a rental and we may need to remove it when we leave this house.

Also, speaking of how easy it was to apply. When our box arrived, there was a smaller decal in addition to the one I’d requested. I thought it was a nice gift, and my kids were very excited to get that bonus and quickly claimed it for their own.

We applied the large one in our living room, and then my son (with a little help from daddy to make sure it was straight), applied the small one to their bedroom door. Yep, so easy a 6 year old can do it :)

And, the finished product.

So, then I went to their website and found out that you get free practice lettering with your order! How cool is that?! Only, don’t be clueless like me and put the big one on your living room wall first and completely ignore the practice one until last.  Lucky for us, it was a simple process and all worked out.

I am planning on starting a search for vinyl scripture passages for our church. . . and for the hallway in our house with all the picture frames still sitting on the floor. I don’t usually care for sponsored posts and almost didn’t read this, but the timing is perfect!

I have been wanting a verse on the wall for a long time since I have been seeing it on other blogs. It’s so hard to pick just one to put on my walls.

We are remodeling our bedroom for the 1st time in 15 years and I have been looking for the “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” vinyl for the wall. I would love this one!!

I've always wanted to freehand paint bible verses on our walls. While I am an artist, I don't do lettering very well… you should see the bible verses I tried fir our church's nursery, luckily the mural looked good so the lettering is rasy to overlook!! I love the look of these decals!

I love the verse you chose. Another one I would consider using is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I always refer back to this one.

Love that these are removable — I had no idea. I’d probably go wtih “In Christ alone, my hope is found” also. Thanks for sharing how easy this is.

Yes, that’s really nice! I recently read another blog post and they mentioned putting theirs on a canvas matting so they could move it with them, which is a good idea. I didn’t think about it until we’d already applied ours to our wall though.

      • Kari J. says

Oo. Applying them to canvas is a great idea! Even if you don’t “move house”, it sure would be nice to be able to move the scripture from room to room whenever the mood struck.

Hmmmm hard to choose right now.
Would love Psalm 4:8 for my bedroom
    or maybe
“A house is built by wisdom, and it is established by understanding. By knowledge the rooms are filled with every precious and beautiful treasure”. – Proverbs 24:3-4
I memorized this verse last year and love it.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to go on a wall in our homeschooling room! Thanks so much for the recommendation!

  9. Rachel says

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.” is such a great verse! Thank you for the giveaway opportunity!

We were at a friend’s house one day and they had verses like this on their walls. I’ve always liked them, but I was surprised when my husband said he would like something like that at our house! He would love it if I won this =) I’d let him pick, but I do like the verse you chose.
