Birthdays, baseball, Bible, and BUSY!

It has been a whirlwind of a week!

My youngest son turned 9 this week, so we did our thing and celebrated him all day long from his birthday basket to bedtime. He celebrated his birthday with his favorite stuffed animal, a little reindeer dog he has had since he was about 3. Doggie (Yes, we have creative names around here) just happens to share Logan’s birthday ;) I love these sweet times.

We also took the time to remember what the Lord has done in His life, and our lives through him. The Old Testament calls us all throughout to remember what the Lord has done for us, and Logan’s birthday is always a great time to remember his testimony.

For the 3rd consecutive year (all the years he has played), my oldest son made our county’s allstar team! I’m so proud of him. He has some God-given talent, and also a lot of heart and hustle to add to it. It makes for some long, hot days. This past week we had a tournament schedule get messed up by rain, which ended up in finishing up the championship game (we lost by 1 in an extra inning) after midnight! We got home at 2:00 a.m. Craziness! Yet, my boys were both up at 6:30 and 7:30 the next morning. Not sure what it would take to get them to sleep until 8:00, but that’s okay. I’m glad they are early risers, it’s a good trait.

Even with all the extra running around, and the 100+ degree weather, I love to watch him play. He is a utility player and plays where he is needed. He may be at pitcher, 3rd base, short stop, 2nd, 1st, or catcher! Whew…keeps us all on our toes. Here is one of my favorites from this weekend where one of the opposing coaches complimented on his catching.

And, a couple of photos that a fellow mama took of him pitching, and hitting. I love the hitting picture, you can see he’s about to smoke that ball.

Though I have been talking about it, and doing videos less lately, I am still keeping up with my reading plan with the group I created at the beginning of this year. We are over halfway through and I’m reminded all over again of why I love reading through the Bible using this plan/method. Everyday I am newly excited to see everything all tied up together. Reading the history, Psalms, prophets, and New Testament each day really shows those connections and how Jesus is written all throughout God’s story from the very beginning. If you’re using my Big Picture Bible reading plan, you can join the group where I post the readings each day.

The busyness continues as my boys are testing to promote from white belt to orange belt in their karate class! And, my mom, sister, and my mom’s friend are here visiting this weekend to celebrate Logan’s birthday, see the boys test for their belt promotions, and hopefully see Caeden playing baseball if the weather cooperates. Busy, busy, busy.

I’m both savoring these days, and also looking forward a few weeks to the time where things will be a bit more relaxed.

Breaking my “B” theme here, but I wanted to share something that has been helping me relax lately. I have been loving the Present Moments essential oil blend from Rocky Mountain Oils. I love it so much that I talked them into doing a special promotion for you so that you can get it for free! Through 7/24 when you spend $99 at Rocky Mountain oils (go here and scroll down to see some of my best recommendations), you can get the Present Moments blend for FREE as a bonus!

You can get all the details here.
